A man on a horse waiting to get into Platinum of Birmingham? It’s not what it looks like

No, LaDarrius Means wasn’t sitting atop his Tennessee Walking Horse waiting to get into a Birmingham nightclub Tuesday night.

But he readily acknowledges it did look that way and got a kick out of it making the rounds on social media.

Means, the owner of Let’s Ride, a horse farm that does birthday parties, carriage rides, photo shoots, parades and more, rides his horses in downtown Birmingham often.

On Tuesday night, he was doing just that when a woman standing in line at nightclub Platinum of Birmingham on Second Avenue waved him over to get a business card.

It was then that Joseph Smitherman Sr. snapped a picture of Means atop his horse Chief.

“To pull up and see a horse in line just made me burst out laughing,’’ Smitherman told AL.com.

He posted it to Facebook with the caption, “I’m finna go back home, man y’all got it.”

The photo has since been shared more than 500 times.

“Please tell me that I’m seeing things and that this is not a man on a horse in the line outside of Platinum,’’ one woman wrote.

“What in the red dead redemption is going on here,’’ another wrote.

And this, “I can’t believe this Yellowstone mess here lol.”

Means spends most of his time with his 29 horses off Minor Parkway and not in nightclubs, but said he got a laugh out of the reaction.

“It was hilarious to me,’’ he said, “but I thought it was crazy.”
